Global multi-modal logistics provider, Westmond Logistics was established in 2017 and was founded by Colm and Melanie West, who has a combined 30 years of experience in all modes of logistics throughout the UK including air, road and sea freight.

The business, which is based in Northern Ireland, believes in creating personalised solutions for its clients by removing the problems of long hold times and offering excellent customer service on a personal level.

Westmond Logistics had been using an alternative VoIP provider when it was referred by an employee to the “Barclay Backing Business Grant” which offered 12 months of free landline to local businesses in Northern Ireland. The grant aimed to get businesses back on their feet after a challenging period during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Britt Megahey, Founder and Managing Director of the Barclay Group highlighted, “We recognise that businesses, especially when furlough ends, and bounceback loans have to be repaid, will need every penny they have to thrive and invest in their business wisely. To help some of those in that challenging position we offered to support their communication needs as they reconnect and resume business.

The Barclay Backing Business Grant is just one of the new corporate social responsibility initiatives that we hope will support our peers in the NI business community. It’s important that businesses support each other as much as possible at this time.”

When asked about the application process, Westmond Logistic described it as, “Brief and succinct.” Applicants were directed to a webpage where they could submit details of their needs and how the grant would help relieve some pressures caused by the COVID-9 pandemic. The selection process involved a thorough analysis of which businesses or organisations would benefit from 12 months of free landline services and successful applicants were notified via a sales representative.

As an existing broadband customer, Westmond Logistics was aware of the high level of customer service and quality services. The business was taken through the sales process which included a detailed insight into its operational processes to understand how the new VoIP system would work on a daily basis. Once complete, the implementation team installed and trained the end users on their new system, answering any questions they had.

When asked about how the free VoIP services have helped, Westmond Logistics responded, “The obvious cost savings and we now have a local VoIP provider at hand to help.” Barclay is a proudly family-owned business servicing Northern Ireland businesses for over 25 years.

John Roulston, Sales Director for the Barclay Group says, “It’s great to have our existing customers taken on additional products and really see the benefit of using one supplier for all communications needs. Having one point of contact and dedicated, in-house support teams is something our customers see real value in and we will continue to invest in technical expertise as we have done over the past 2 years.

We want to continue to provide industry-leading solutions to businesses, coupled with an unbeatable customer experience and delivered by industry experts.”

Westmond Logistic said it would be happy to recommend Barclay’s to other businesses in the future for any communication requirements.
