About Early Years

In 2015, Early Years will celebrate 50 years of working to promote and develop high quality, evidence-informed early childhood services for young children, their families and communities.

It is the largest organisation in Northern Ireland working with and for young children. It is non-profit making and has been working since 1965 to promote high quality childcare for children aged 0 – 12 and their families.

Currently Early Years provides information and training for parents, childcare providers, employers and local authorities.

What were Early Years’ main day-to-day challenges?

One of the main challenges from a telecommunications’ perspective was finding a supplier who could provide robust, stable network coverage for staff based in remote and/or field settings. Also, Stephen was looking for communication services that would help support staff in their roles, such as Microsoft Office 365, email access and general telephony services.

What benefit has the PSN plan brought?

The PSN plan has enhanced communication and collaboration between staff and allowed staff to avail of services that we previously did not have eg email and Microsoft Office 365.

How has your capability been enhanced?

According to Stephen, capability has been enhanced by “improved communications and support of our IT strategy and the company strategic plan”.
