Blue&Me TomTom to Equip Alfa Romeo MiTo

Fiat Group Automobiles and TomTom will present their latest Blue&Me–TomTom navigation system, developed especially for Alfa Romeo, at the 80th International Motor Show in Geneva. The first model to be equipped with the new system will be the Alfa Romeo MiTo, followed by the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
Like on other Fiat models (Punto Evo, Doblò) the approach chosen is to have a detachable TomTom PND seating on the dashboard. The system manages telephone, navigation and information functions on the TomTom device touch screen. All system functions can be also accessed using either steering wheel controls or voice commands. The integration has been supported by Magneti Marelli, also part of the Fiat group.
In addition to navigation, a “Fuel Efficiency” function monitors driving style in real time, in order to optimize fuel consumption. The system displays all trip information, including average speed, fuel consumption and mileage driven. It also shows the nearest fuel/LPG filling station and the nearest Alfa Romeo service centre.
