What is the difference between Bis and Bes?
BIS BlackBerry Internet Solution.
BIS was created so that smaller business who were not running a Microsoft Exchange server are able to get email from their POP or iMap email addresses as well as been able to get email from an Exchange service. However BIS and BES do not mix when using the one Exchange server. To synconise your contacts, calendar and to-do list the end user will need to load the software that comes with the phone onto their computer and sync to the computer via the provided USB cable or via Bluetooth where available. To update it the phone needs to be reconnected via one of these two ways.
BES BlackBerry Enterprise Solution
This is the more serious of the two packages available because not only will get the emails in the same way that BIS does with Exchange, Pop and iMap. The biggest difference is that the calendar, contacts and to-do lists will be synced wirelessly from the Microsoft Exchange server without having to go anywhere near the computer.
